What If Someone Had Shown You the Way?

Think about your career. The unwritten rules you had to learn. The mistakes you made before you understood how things really work. The insider knowledge that took years to accumulate.

Now imagine starting over in a foreign country. No network. No context. No one to ask.

That's the reality for thousands of displaced Ukrainian professionals right now. They have skills, experience, and ambition—but they're navigating blind.

You can change that. One conversation at a time.

What You'll Do

Real Help, Not Abstract Advice

Mentoring with TEEI isn't vague inspiration. It's practical, concrete support for people actively rebuilding careers.

In a typical session, you might:

  • Review someone's CV and tell them what's actually wrong with it
  • Walk through their LinkedIn profile and show them what recruiters see
  • Run a mock interview and give honest feedback
  • Explain how hiring really works in your country or industry
  • Help them understand whether their experience translates—and how to position it
  • Talk through a career pivot and whether it makes sense
  • Share the unwritten rules of your field that nobody teaches
  • Connect them with resources, tools, or approaches you've found useful

You're not solving their problems for them. You're giving them the insight and confidence to solve their own.

Who You'll Mentor

Skilled Professionals Starting Over

Your mentees aren't beginners. They're experienced professionals whose careers were interrupted by war. Many held senior roles. Some ran their own businesses. All of them are motivated, resourceful, and ready to work—they just need someone who understands the new landscape.

How It Works

Simple Platform, Flexible Schedule

Mentors for Ukraine runs on Kintell—a purpose-built mentoring platform with integrated video, scheduling, and messaging.

01

Create your mentor profile with your background, expertise, and languages. Link your LinkedIn. Write a short bio about what you can help with.

02

Get Verified

TEEI reviews your application (usually within 48 hours) to ensure quality and safety for mentees.

03

Build Your Profile

Your mentor card shows your headline, location, languages, expertise areas, work history, and what you can help with. Mentees browse and choose mentors based on fit.

04

Set Your Availability

Open time slots in your calendar whenever you're free. The platform handles timezones automatically.

05

Accept Requests

Mentees request sessions with a short message explaining what they need. You accept the ones that fit your expertise.

06

Meet & Mentor

Join 30–60 minute video sessions through the platform. No extra tools needed. After each session, mentees can leave ratings and reviews.

You control everything. How often you're available. Which sessions you accept. When you take breaks. The platform makes it easy; you make it meaningful.

The Difference You'll Make

What One Conversation Can Do

Before mentoring:

Kateryna's CV listed every responsibility she'd ever had. It was three pages, dense with jargon, and said nothing about impact. She'd applied to 40 jobs with no responses.

After one session:

Her mentor—a marketing director in London—helped her cut it to one page, lead with results, and reframe her Ukrainian experience for a European audience.

Three weeks later:

First interview. Then second. Then offer.

This is what mentoring does. Not magic. Not luck. Just someone who knows the game helping someone who's learning it.

One conversation can:

  • Fix a CV that's been getting ignored for months
  • Reveal a positioning problem someone can't see themselves
  • Give confidence for an interview that changes everything
  • Explain an industry norm that unlocks a whole job search
  • Validate a career pivot someone was afraid to make
  • Connect dots between experience and opportunity

You already have this knowledge. The only question is whether you'll share it.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need mentoring or coaching experience?
No. If you've built a career and can explain how things work in your field, you're qualified. Many of our best mentors started with no formal experience.
What language do sessions happen in?
Most sessions are in English, which most Ukrainian professionals speak. If you speak Ukrainian, Russian, or other languages, that's a bonus—you can filter mentees by language preference.
How long is each session?
Typically 30–60 minutes. You and your mentee decide what works. Some relationships stay as one-off sessions; others become recurring.
What if I don't know how to help with a specific question?
Be honest. Say "I don't know, but here's how I'd find out" or "That's outside my expertise—you might want to find someone who specialises in X." Mentees value honesty over pretending.
Can I mentor multiple people?
Yes. Many mentors work with several mentees, either concurrently or sequentially. You control your calendar and capacity.
What if a mentee doesn't show up?
It happens occasionally. The platform tracks no-shows, and TEEI works to maintain accountability. You can always close your calendar if you need a break.
Is there training?
We provide a short orientation with tips for effective mentoring, but there's no lengthy certification process. The best training is your own career experience.
Can I get a reference for my mentoring work?
Yes. TEEI provides references and recommendations for mentors who contribute meaningfully over time.
What's the time zone situation?
The platform converts all times automatically. You set availability in your local time; mentees see it in theirs. It works across any timezone.
What if I want to stop or take a break?
Close your calendar slots whenever you need. There's no penalty for taking breaks. Life happens.
